Hi there! Thanks for checking out my blog. I won’t bore you about myself but just in case you were wondering, here are some personal and professional details about me. I’m a professional Canadian male currently living in Ottawa, Ontario. I earned my BEng in Chemical Engineering at McGill University and quickly learned that my passions were in business and entrepreneurship more so than technical engineering work. My father, uncle and grandfather were all entrepreneurs so I think it’s in my blood.

I’m currently employed full-time as a field retail sales manager for an international Fortune 500 company. I have been in this role for 2.5 years and in this time I have learned more than I ever could have imagined about business in general. More specifically, I have learned the ins and outs of operating and growing a highly successful retail operation.

The territory of retail sites that I oversee produces total annual sales of approximately $230M. My role includes managing all operational daily activities in my territory, organizing and verifying flawless implementation of national marketing programs, recruiting and interviewing candidates to ensure a pipeline of talent, and conducting data- and observation-oriented field research to identify and act on opportunities for profit growth. Last but certainly not least, I get to execute all of these activities by working with and coaching a team of amazing retailers that learn from me as I learn from them. Hence why I called this blog “Business Management Blog” — I have the practical experience and formal training to write rich content about the many details of managing a successful business.
